Customer Focus in ISO 9001:2008
The term Customer Focus is used today as opposed to the term and principle focus in the Company, where, formerly, companies should be determined how the products and customers simply accept these impositions, little importance was given to the needs of customers and the company determined the main features of their products.
Today the focus is on customers because they guarantee the permanence of companies in the market. And that focus has shifted by a very simple reason, when there was only one company producing a product the market was very competitive and this little company could set any feature of the product from production to the form of marketing. As market developments and the emergence of new competitors after the Industrial Revolution was the natural tendency that customers have more choices when purchasing products and so companies began to pay more attention to customers, because they realized that the only way they would survive in competitive markets. This also helps to create a greater sense of demand by customers and the trend is that, year after year, to inform customers about the product and the image of the company before making a purchase.
